The US and Religion...

THE USA AND FUNDAMENTALISM

This Country was NOT founded on Christian principles. Ben Franklin, although the Christians have tried to hijack him and make him one of them, disliked Christianity. You see, he was old enough to remember Cotton Mather. In fact, he argued with him publicly and that was one of the main reasons he relocated to Philadelphia. Cotton Mather, BTW, was the force behind the Salem Witch Trials. That was the view of Christianity that Franklin and most (if not all) of the rest of the Founding Fathers had. They were 'Deists' at best. Remember they were living and working in a town and Colony founded by Wm. Pitt. Remember he was the one who was granted land to found a Colony that wasn't under the Church's thumb?
They all saw the same sort of Fundamentalism that you people espouse today, as an unholy trap. It had created and sustained the Dark Ages, the Inquisition, the rejection and murder of the Huguenots and lately, (to them), the Witch Hunts throughout England, Europe and America.
They wanted a Gov't that was free of the sort of Fundamentalist, Christian only, Festering Pustule of misguided 'Faith' that has reared its ugly, prejudiced head again in the US of late.
"In God We Trust" was NOT their motto and should NEVER have been adopted. The phrase, "Under God," should NEVER have been added to our pledge. They espoused freedom FROM religion as much as freedom OF religion. They correctly thought that Church should NEVER be allowed to have a part in State. Look at the Church of England's response to Wm. Pitt, Senior. How it handled the 'Quakers.' Look at what it did to the Huguenot leaders, whom they had rescued from France, when it realized that they weren't going to espouse the Church of England as a National Religion any more than they had Catholicism, in France. England, for a Century before the Colonies were founded and for almost 2 full Centuries after, was rife with Civil Wars, persecutions, first of Catholics, then of Protestants, back to Catholics and finally persecution or even execution for anyone who wasn't a card-carrying member of the Church/State. And it was NO BETTER in the Colonies at the time. These were the 'Christian' principles that our Founding Fathers were faced with.
These are the 'Christian' principles you Fundamentalists and your sort, would have us bound to, today.
Now, all of that is NOT to say that you and your Faith have no place, no Right, in this Country. You do! I, along with millions of other people, swore an Oath to defend that Right, among others. But so do all other Peoples have the same Rights. The Church, any church, has NO RIGHT or RESPONSIBILITY to control Marriage, it is a CIVIL Institution (contract), anymore than they have a RIGHT to tell women that they may NOT get an abortion. People in this Country have, and rightly should ALWAYS HAVE, the Freedom to choose, to do with their relationships and their own bodies as THEY SEE FIT, without Witch Hunts, without interference from anyone else, and especially any Church, Religion or Faith!

Grow up, Fundamentalists, and go learn something!
Does God Exist?

Let's for the moment consider that God is entirely and completely real and all of the story is true and inspired.
Now. God is omniscient and omnipotent. That means 'All-knowing' and able to do anything. His only constraint is that He must work out of a spirit of love, since that is His driving urge. Now all of that is clearly stated in the bible. Right?
Think back now to before Earth's Creation. To the time when He created the Angels. One of the very top Angels He created was Lucifer. Lucifer was one of God's favorites. The bible tells us as much. But consider this, God knew from before the beginning that when He created Lucifer that the Angel was flawed and would fail. So God went along with the Plan before the Plan ever came along. Before the Earth, Man or even the Angels were created, God was already following the Plan. His Plan. Now I want you to think about this and answer this one question to yourself. Be honest. Is God capable of creating less than perfection? Is it within God's Nature to be less than perfect? No to both questions. Of course not! God is perfect, perfect Love and as such, would not be able to bring Himself to create a flawed Being. Since God didn't create Lucifer with this flaw, and all of His creations are perfect, before Sin was introduced by Satan, then by definition, Lucifer was perfect in every regard. Except that we all know that he wasn't. Lucifer was flawed. If he was flawed, and sin was not yet present in the Universe, then he had to have been created with that particular flaw.
So, we all know God's Plan of Salvation and we all agree that sin is of paramount importance to that plan. Right so far?
Well then, God intentionally created Lucifer as a flawed Being. Sin didn't come from Lucifer, he was created to fail, to fall, to corrupt this Earth with his Cosmic Illness. Sin. Which God Himself implanted into his very Being, his Soul - if Angels have souls. And he was created to be the scape-goat. Satan takes all the blame and gets all the punishment in the end, and God gets accolades for His Plan of Salvation.
God's plan, all along was to introduce sin into this Earth, to destroy all of Mankind, Generation by Generation, person by person for the whole term of this Earth's existence until the Second Coming and the Cleansing.
God introduced sin, God intended to destroy everyone except one chosen family by drowning. God intended to cause 6,000 years’ worth of suffering, tension, strife, war, famine, ignorance, bigotry, slavery, genocide, just plain evil cruelty, even going so far as to Sacrifice His Own Son for this sick and unnecessary Cosmic Game that He had rigged before even the first piece was set in motion. And yet, He is a God of Love. A God of Love would be incapable in Its very Nature of causing intentional harm to the billions of Its creations over thousands of years.
This argument alone was enough to convince me that the God of Judeo-Christian-Islamic traditions does not exist!

If the God of the bible exists, He is inherently evil. Why? Because He intentionally introduced Evil into His creation, condoned it, and even allowed the first Evil Being to be one of His counselors in Heaven. (Read Job). The inescapable conclusion is that God, as purported in the bible, is a fantasy. His very existence is a conundrum that is irreconcilable. God can not lie, and yet the bible says He did. Over and over. To everyone.
